THE EXPERIENCE

I specialise in realism, working exclusively with graphite and charcoal to create lifelike drawings that capture not only the physical details, but the spirit and presence of each subject. Since childhood I have always held a pencil or paint brush, analysing the world around me and recreating what I see onto a canvas. So from years of dedication and curiosity, I have developed my skill in realism art, focusing on fine detail, emotional depth, and creating artwork that truly feels alive.

The process begins with a one-on-one consultation where we’ll discuss your vision and the story behind the portrait. For esteemed clients, I am available to travel anywhere in the world to conduct the consultation in person. I’ll walk you through how everything works, from the materials I use to the timeline involved. As part of this consultation, I conduct a professional in-house photography session, using natural lighting and thoughtful composition to capture the perfect reference image. This step is essential, not just for the accuracy of the final piece, but for building a personal connection between artist and subject.

Once the photo reference is complete, I begin the shape & stencil process, this is to build a base image onto the canvas that is accurate to the eye. This first step is by far the most important, in order to create a portrait that seems ‘alive’ it must be entirely correct in every shape and size. I then proceed to manipulate the layers by building depth into the face, shading, erasing, detailing.. tuning in on the smallest details for accuracy in every crevice of the face.

I will share the process privately with my client, dedicating myself entirely to one commission at a time. This process will be carried out over several months to ensure every detail is rendered with care and precision.

The final artwork is delivered as a complete fine art legacy piece, framed in a style chosen by you that complements your home and interior design. From start to finish, my goal is to create more than just a portrait — I aim to craft a timeless work of art that feels intimate, meaningful, and made to last for generations.
